Once upon a time, when I was a child, the of the first forms of art that kids discovered were coloring books and crayons. Nothing will ever replace a real book - I hope. There is something about a book that the computer cannot replace, but the computer allows us to do graphic design and testing without destroying the original artworks and once the testing is finished the artwork can begin in production.
Also this type of use of the computer allows the kids to become familiar with the computer without having to conquer the fear of learning it. there are lots of social sites that allow kids to mingle with other kids of the same age swapping of ideas and artworks and this is also a great learning tool for kids and some adults.
